Bretonnian Man-at-Arms (coloured)

Description

Coloured in Gimp.

The peasant levies of the Bretonnian Empire; ill-equipped and badly trained. Their Lords provide them with their weapons and armour, but why spend money on lousy peasants? This peasant isn't even holding on to his standard issue shield! (mostly because they are big and would obscure the whole character)

Part of my series of making Warhammer fantasy more realistic/authentic.

Games Workshop really got it wrong with Bretonnia.

In medieval Europe, the "men-at-arms" were professional infantry soldiers equiped and trained with pole arms (Spears, vouges, halberds, pikes...) and secundary melee weapons such as swords, falchions, great axes, and maces.

The so called "Men-at-arms" of Bretonnia are more Aline to militiamen rather than real men-at-arms.
